As a native Baltimorean and an innate entrepreneur for most of her entire career, Erica grew up in the West Baltimore City community of Arlington, where she remembers her neighbors as family, and trips to the corner ice cream shop in Park Heights. Maybe it was the tenacity and business-minded sprit of her Father and Aunt who owned and operated two Barber Shops in historic Park Circle, or her achievements in the Women Entrepreneurs of Baltimore as a young woman, but either way It’s no doubt that Erica has spent a lifetime as an independent entrepreneur, carving out a strong professional path.
She later went on to establish ELS Property Management in 1997 and transitioned into real estate in 2004, thus demonstrating her drive and passion as a change agent focused on success and extraordinary commitment and professionalism; always with a steadfast diligence toward knowledge, service, excellence, and protecting the consumer’s interest. As an international traveler and 5K race enthusiast her outside the box and diverse perspective, coupled with her innate gift to connect to humanity and the call to volunteer for the benefit of community has always defined her ability to succeed professionally as an industry leader who has consistently worked to protect the consumer.
Among her many accolades in the national, state and local real estate industry, she has served and received various awards from the Maryland Association of REALTORS® (MAR) now known as Maryland REALTORS®, that represent her outstanding commitment to the real estate industry and sales production that include the Shining Star Award for 2006, the Leadership Academy graduate 2008, Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS®: Rookie of the Year 2009, and the Distinguished Sales Associate 2018.
Her range of professional global interest has been evident since the onset of her membership with the International Real Estate Federation – US Chapter (FIABCI-USA) since 2018, where she has since served on the FIABCI-USA DC/Mid-Atlantic Council Reboot Group, and elected as Council President and currently serves on the FIABCI-USA Board of Directors. Participation as past chair and current member of the Maryland REALTORS® Global Business committee and Chair of the CIPS Institute Sub-committee, and Vice-President of the Asian Real Estate Association of the American DC Metro Chapter, and she outstandingly exercises her deeper commitment to an international show of strength, growth and partnership.
In continuation of her commitment, Erica has served as past president of the Baltimore Chapter of Women’s Council of Realtors and as past Board Member of the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) board. Additionally, she was appointed as past chair of the Maryland Realtors Annual Conference Committee in 2012, member of the Learn to Succeed Real Estate Conference & Expo for Belgrade, Serbia and recently appointed as Board Member to the Bethel Empowerment and Wellness Center in 2020.
As an extension to her experience and expertise, this new appointment as Vice-Chair for the Global Business Alliances Committee will allow Erica to continue and broaden her commitment toward expanding and building an even stronger network of partnerships both locally and globally. In a statement Erica shared that “As a servant in the real estate industry; for seventeen years, I am more than thrilled to be named as the 2023 Vice-Chair for the Global Business Alliances Committee. We are weathering challenging times and changes in the industry but I look forward to working with my global real estate colleagues and stakeholders to expand housing equality and affordability; champion REALTORS® as consumers' best source of information in the real estate transaction, enhance member engagement and experience, and drive community development.”
