TRUE STORY: Regarding my real estate license, I was the proverbial “horse led to water,” in the best way possible….
People kept telling me, “Chris, you should really be in real estate. You’d be so good at it. You love to teach and help others.”
In 2005, I took their advice, and 2 years later got licensed….
Living in Japan and teaching everything from skiing, to English, to molecular cell biology as a university professor allowed me to realize my true passion. No matter the subject, I love teaching others!
Ask me a question and I’ll get you the answer. I’ve been called “better than Google” because when you don’t know even what question to ask, I can help you ask the right one. I love helping and teaching people how to wisely make one of the most important financial decisions of their lives. It keeps me going daily. I just love it!
Being a good teacher is only half of what makes a real estate agent successful. The only reason people seek my real estate expertise is because of the knowledgeable, personalized service I provide. You don’t hire me to help you just buy or sell a property, you hire me to make the process successful and as stress free as possible. I don’t care about what you buy or sell, I care about making the experience great for you.
I love people. More to the point, I love helping people. I have been in education and customer service my entire working life of over 40 years, including 10 years as a flight attendant, which is what I did after my career as a university professor.
When I first became a REALTOR, I very quickly realized how complete the transferability of my people skills was into the real estate business world, and what’s more, helped me understand how well suited I am for this job. Meeting and exceeding clients’ expectations, sometimes even before they realize what they are, has been particularly useful.
Real estate allows me to have a career that combines many core values important to my life: engaging and helping people with one of the biggest events of their lives: buying or selling a home.
If you are planning on buying or selling a property any time soon, please follow this advice.
First, take the time to learn about the process so you can make a wise financial decision. It will be worth it in the long run, and you should never invest in real estate based on emotion alone.
Secondly, the buying or selling process should be fun. Because I think it’s important to have someone you trust, and who can make your home buying or selling experience enjoyable, I think every buyer or seller should call me, LOL….
Thirdly, don't forget to live. A house is an investment, but it’s also a place to call home and create endless memories. Whatever decision you end up making, make sure it’s one you’ll enjoy for years to come.
Learn. Laugh. Live.
