The Realtor Code of Ethics is very clear. Acts of discrimination are not permitted.
Yet what is often unclear is what steps need to be taken to report a discriminatory act. Most are also unaware of how a complaint is heard and potentially acted upon at the local, regional, state and national Realtor association levels. As part of the Stop Hate in Real Estate initiative, Mark Mansour, the broker of Old Colony Company and recent Chair of the NAR Professional Standards Committee, will share his expertise on how the two-step process works in identifying possible Article 10 violations and potential processes to file a complaint.
How are instances of unconscious bias different from intentional acts of discrimination? What if they occur outside a Realtors professional role? Can complaints be made anonymously? Mark will address these topics and so many others along with taking your questions.
Ensuring that we police our industry is critical to the success of the Stop Hate initiative. Join us on December 6 at 2 p.m. Eastern to gain the confidence to “see something…say something.”
