I strongly recommend Matt Hendry of Keller Williams. He’s a knowledgeable agent who was very willing to spend the time taking me through the many details and nuances around home buying in the Bay Area, including topics from neighborhoods to the loan process, to disclosures, to TICs, and much more. On two occasions when I had detailed questions around market conditions and and loan documents, he arranged Zoom calls (pandemic time), and came more than prepared to answer my questions.

A few specific ways Matt brought value to my home buying process include:

1) Negotiating my purchase price to $35k under list.
2) Coordinating / managing all inspections and appraisals.
3) Conducting the final walkthrough on my behalf when I was unable to attend at the originally scheduled time.
4) Recommending the mortgage broker I ultimately chose (I had prospected several companies online and requested quotes from my existing financial institutions, but ultimately went with Matt's recommendation as they had the best rate.)
5) Working with all parties to pull up the date of my close of escrow per my request.

However, the greatest way Matt helped was by discovering and bringing to my attention what would become my new home. After I had reviewed over 200 listings online and had narrowed prospects down to 10 properties to tour, I asked Matt if there were any properties not on my list that he thought I should take a look at. The one he recommended (which I had overlooked) is now my home.

Throughout my home buying process, Matt never made me feel pressured or rushed; rather he asked the right questions, listened and took my feedback into consideration. In the end, he was able to identify the property that met my needs even better than I.

And now, as I sit and type this review in my dream home in the Mission, I’m very grateful to have had him as my agent not only for the key role he played making it happen, but also for the smoothness his aptitude and acumen brought to a complicated process.
