My career in real estate began before I knew what real estate was. My father was a custom home builder in Grand Haven, Michigan and my maternal grandfather was a stonemason in Grand Haven and surrounding areas. I remember being on jobsites from a very early age and the thought that my family could create a home from thin air was exhilarating. I found my way to Texas in my early 20s with a job in banking. I didn't last long in the banking industry, too much time indoors and I never really felt I was helping anyone. I left banking and bounced around a bit and finally landed in radio for a large national conglomerate and specialized in NTR, in laymen's terms I planned very large marketing events and sold ad space for local advertisers. I still didn't really LOVE what I was doing. We moved to Colorado in 2003 after drawing Denver out of a hat, while in Colorado we started a boutique mortgage company and knew that the real estate industry was where I belonged. Mortgage wasn't ever my true passion but I felt like I was in the right place. We moved back to Texas in 2009, the old saying you can take the Texan out of Texas is certainly applicable. I started working for Keller Williams when we moved back and left for Remax fairly quickly where I stayed for nine years. Nine good years. Nine GREAT years. I won several awards from Remax and from industry leaders such as RealTrends. I still knew that I wanted more so started shopping for an alliance that more closely mirrored my personal beliefs about home. I found Engel & Völkers. I am so glad to be in a partnership with a company that recognizes the importance of collaboration. I'm excited to see what the future holds. I look forward to helping you find your home and become friends along the way.
