Drew Griffin Beacon of Light

The Drew Griffin Beacon of Light Award is issued annually to recognize Griffin’s passion for community service. The award was created to honor a member of the Alliance community “who best personifies the selflessness, love, and dedication which Drew Griffin contributed to the LGBTQ+ community.”

This individual does not have to be an Alliance member, but must have made a significant impact on the LGBTQ+ community in housing or the real estate industry, or a notable impact/contribution to the Alliance in a positive way which assisted in the furthering of the Alliance’s mission, vision, or values.

Ally of the Year

Ally of the Year is a prestigious honor recognizing the efforts of those supportive of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance and the LGBTQ+ community.

This individual does not have to be an Alliance member, but must have made a significant impact on the Alliance in a positive way, in addition to other facets of the LGBTQ+ community through volunteerism and/or professionalism.

Named in his honor, “The Drew Griffin Beacon of Light Award” is issued annually to recognize Griffin’s passion for community service.

“Drew is a role model for what leadership and volunteerism should look like,” said Ryan Weyandt, CEO of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance. “Not only has Drew done so much for the Alliance, but he has dedicated his life to creating a safe environment for the LGBTQ+ community. The Drew Griffin Beacon of Light Award is rightfully the first award the Alliance has created and will always have a special place in our hearts.”

2020 Ally of the Year

“It is impossible to measure the importance Fred has played in championing diversity, equity and inclusion in the real estate industry,” said LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance CEO Ryan Weyandt. “And no one has played a more important role in paving the way for so many in the LGBTQ+ community to have successful careers in real estate. Not only did he play a prominent role in having NAR’s Code of Ethics amended to outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, but he has worked to position NAR as a staunch supporter of our community’s Fair Housing rights, including the Equality Act.
