LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance becomes a 501(C)6 non-profit.

The LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance continues to make rapid progress as we have officially filed to become a 501(C)6 non-profit organization with proper transparency and governance. We are dedicated to advocate on behalf of the LGBTQ real estate consumer and professionals while serving as a preeminent networking group.

Without going to deep into legalese, a 501(C)6 is an IRS tax code that allows several types of groups – including Chambers of Commerce, trade and professional associations – the ability to operate as a non-profit entity. 

The process for application is relatively straightforward as we now wait for approval from the IRS.  The organization currently functions as a nonprofit corporation incorporated in the State of Minnesota. 

The LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance is currently led by a 50+ person Steering Committee and smaller Executive Committee. We are working towards creating the bylaws of the Alliance that will ensure transparency and the proper governance.
